Speech Pathology Positions

Independent Contractor Speech Pathologists 

We currently have a full team for 2012. We are however happy to hear from suitably qualified speech pathologists who are interested in providing services to our clients as an Independent Contractor. We often find ourselves needing additional speech pathologists so we are happy for interested parties to introduce themselves.  The information below outlines the role and the personal skills that we feel would be best suited to working within our team. 

The role provides:

  • Good compensation for your skillspscyhologists and speech pathologists work together to develop children's skills

  • A varied and interesting case load, including some offsite work in educational settings

  • The opportunity to develop your therapy skills and have ongoing involvement with clients
  • Clients aged from 18 months to 18 years who are able to access ongoing services if they need and want to
  • Permanent and ongoing work so you can have some consistency in your work life. 

General information

Independent Contractor positions require you to have, or organise the following prior to commencing in the role.

  • Registration with Speech Pathology Australia (participating in CPSP)
  • Provider number with Medicare and registraion with the private health insurance funds
  • Police clearance and clearance to work in Catholic & Independent schools
  • ABN and your own registered business
  • Child protection training (formerly known as Mandatory Notification training)

We are willing to assist suitable candidates through this process if necessary.

You are welcome to express your interest in this role if you meet the following requirements:

  • Evidence of exceptional skills working with a paediatric case load
  • Ability to work effectively with children, families and other service providers
  • An interest in working with children with ASD as part of your caseload
  • Early intervention experience
  • Skills in collaborating with educators and providing clinical services within an educational context
  • Commitment to accessing and providing quality professional development opportunities
  • Your own reliable transport.

The following skills would be highly regarded

  • Availability to work Saturday mornings (possibly on a fortnightly basis). 
  • Previous experience providing services to children in an educational setting
  • Experience working with children with ASD
  • Recognised by Autism SA to diagnose children with ASD

Educational Psychologist

An experienced psychologist is sought to provide Independent Contractor services to Talking Matters clients.  The opportunity provides:

  • A sound referral base to develop your pediatric caseload
  • Flexibility to schedule your own working hours and your provision of services
  • Opportunity to contribute to a multi disciplinary team of speech pathologists, occupational therapists and educators
  • Support with appoinrments, accounts and some resources
  • A pleasant consulting environment geared to the needs of a pediatric case load
  • An opportunity to develop your own business in a supportive environment

General information

This is an Independent Contractor role which would initially involve a part-time caseload, with the potential to develop to a full time equivalent. 

Expressions of interest sought from appropriately qualified psychologists meeting the following requirements

  • Experienced working with children with a wide range of needs
  • Able to work effectively with families and other service providers
  • Strong desire to collaborate with a multi-D team
  • Commitment to providing high quality effecient services
  • An interest and experience in working with children with ASD
  • Able to complete educational assessments
  • Willing to comply with Talking Matters company policies, procedures and service standards.
