Speech & Language Assessment Fees

An assessment typically costs $90 per half-hour. The time required depends on the age of the child and the nature of their difficulties, and usually ranges from 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. In some cases an addditional appointment may be required to complete the assessment. The Talking Matters administration staff will discuss this during the booking process. Payment is required on the day of assessment.

A summary of findings and recommendations will be provided as part of the initial assessment session at no extra cost.  The summary reports are detailed enough to allow planning by other individuals and to assist schools in requesting additional support when needed.  Complex and time consuming written reports such as applications for intensive speech and language units will be provided for families who require them at a cost of $75. 

Assessments may be claimable under private health cover for eligible families.
