Individual Therapy  Every child on the autism spectrum is different, but many need support to develop their communication skills.
Children who work with Talking Matters consultants in individual sessions all work to achieve goals which have been specifically developed by their speech pathologist for them.  No two programs would look the same or be delivered in exactly the same way.  At Talking Matters we know your child is special and will get the most out of sessions when the program is developed with their strengths and needs in mind.  Individual sessions are based on an assessment of your child's abilities in comprehension, expressive language, speech and for older children literacy skills.  Individual sessions can cater for children who have no speech, right through to highly verbal children who need support with social skills or literacy.

Home or Child Care Centre Visits (pdf) Many families find it difficult to attend a speech pathologist’s office for speech therapy sessions.  Families are now able to organise home  and centre based service within a 15km (or less than 30 minutes) radius from our office. Having speech pathology sessions at your child's home or child care facility allows access for parents who work full time or who have difficulty with transport. It allows sessions to occur in a familiar place and the opportunity for childcare workers to be involved. Home or childcare visits are hour long appointments commencing when the therapist arrives and concluding when she leaves.  Set up and pack up time is included in the hour. Families
