Occupational Therapist

Talking Matters is a leading provider in early intervention services. Services include speech pathology, psychology, occupational therapy and autism & disability consultancy services for children, with a focus on early intervention and child development.  We focus on building strong relationships with children and their families to support, empower and strengthen them to achieve the best possible outcomes, and facilitate change. 

We are currently interested in hearing from occupational therapists who are suitably qualified and experienced professional team members who would like to register their interest in joining our dedicated team.  A commitment to the families you work with, and a passion for contributing to the work of a dynamic and innovative team is essential.  Varying time commitments in the practice can be negotiated. 

A position on the Talking Matters team offers opportunities in:

  • Supporting children with a range of developmental difficulties including autism, global developmental delays, Down's Syndrome and more.  A varied and interesting case load. 
  • Working alongside speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologist and disability & autism consultants
  • Predominantly clinical services with some consultation work
  • Providing individual therapy, training sessions, and some group work
  • Permanent and ongoing work in a friendly, dynamic and progressive team of professionals.

Skills & experience

  • 2+ years of paediatric experience preferred, including early interventionresources information speech pathology adelaide links development
  • Demonstrated skills in working with children with ASD as part of your caseload
  • Skills in collaborating with educators and providing services in an educational context
  • Good communication and team work skills

  • DCSI clearance to work with children

  • Appropriate qualifications and registration with your professional association
  • Participation in the appropriate professional development program
  • Registration with Medicare
  • Professional indemnity and public liability insurance

The following skills would be highly regarded where appropriate

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays

Occupational Therapy Clinical Manager    

We encourage applications from suitably qualified and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapists who are able to lead and support a dynamic multi-D team.  As part of the role, you will be expected to work as a member of the management team to achieve excellence in clinical services, as well as contribute to the overall management of the practice.

  • Mental Health Practitioner status
  • Previous Private Practice experience highly regarded
  • Experience with autism, sensory issues, and developmental delays
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a mulit-discipline team and provide occupational therapy clinical support.
